Having just bought our first ever home, I can officially say I’m loving kitting it out with furniture and housey bits. I’m forever scouring the likes of Wayfair, Achica and Groupon for unique little bits to make the new house more homely - try as I might to slow down my spending, I’m just too excited to stop!

When the time comes to buy new furniture for your home, catalogues have some great pieces and collections. If you budget is tight, and you have lots to buy, they’re often the best way to compare options and pricing before making big purchases. These are a few of the best sites to consider when you’re ready to invest in new furniture for your home.

The Range

If you’re super strapped for cash, you’d be hard pressed to find a cheaper selection. The site has a dedicated section for furniture, with sofas, loveseats, dining room sets, bedroom furniture, and more. The Range also do lots of budget collection-sets, so you can save on the price if you have an entire room to deck out - as opposed to shopping for only a couple of select pieces.

Next

Not just for denim and work outfits, Next also has a furniture and home goods catalogue. Next online is more than just a website, it’s a feast for the eyes, with lots of high res images and inspo shots. Whichever room you planning on revamping, Next caters for almost everything - from statement furniture to accessories like floorlamps, drapes, or colourful decorative bits to make your room pop. In my opinon, Next are also unrivalled for mid-priced outdoor furniture sets as well; So, if you have a patio or some decking, and want to enjoy the warm summer months, check them out before anyone else.

Laura Ashley

A little more to spend? If you’re plumping for a country-inspired, shaker or more traditional feel, Laura Ashley wins hands down. If you can’t afford to do a whole room in Laura Ashley, do check their mirrors and fabric pieces to complement an existing theme. It’s amazing what a gingham tablecloth can do for your dining room.

EX CATALOGUE FURNITURE CENTRE

If only I’d have discovered this place sooner, I’d have saved myself a few quid. The site showcases many modern pieces, high-value sets, and high-quality material finishes. If you are looking for luxury, or for lavish furniture, or if you simply like the modern twist on your furniture, this is the place to go online. See here for more catalogues from which you can purchase furniture on credit.

New furniture can really recreate a dated, or older looking home. If you are ready for that change, and want to find great sets, collections, and of course, great prices, there are many online catalogues which sell furniture in the UK. For homeowner who want to find great deals, selection, and the perfect set for their home and décor, it’s always best to shop around online for the best price.

If you have had missing teeth for quite some time, you may warmly welcome a dental implant. It’s a great solution to brighten the smile and keep oral health in good condition. However, after undergoing the surgery many wonder what the best foods are to eat.

Whether you have just had single or multiple tooth implants, this article will list some of the easiest foods to chew. This way you can promote the healing process and keep the implants in top condition.

If you have just had the work done, follow this eating regime and stick to the following foods:

After The First Few Days

This time is crucial to setting yourself up for the best recovery time and results possible. This means you want to adhere to strict foods and do all the right things. Soft foods work best after the surgery so anything such as:

- Scrambled eggs

- Yoghurt

- Mashed potatoes

- Ice cream

- Pudding

- Porridge

These foods work well to give teeth the maximum amount of time to rest and heal.

For The First Two Weeks

The initial two weeks after undergoing the implant are by far most important. This is because the implant is taking full root and setting major disturbances could end up harming your overall results. This means you want to drink juice and sodas using straws all the time. This doesn’t matter if it’s simply fruit juice, you need to tread carefully.

After The First Two Weeks

So, we have established that the first two weeks you should eat mainly softer foods. After which, your main diet should still tread carefully. You will want to be eating things such as:

- Boiled vegetables

- Pasta

- Cut chicken

- Fruits that are soft such as bananas or oranges.

As time passes by, you can gradually transition into harder foods and step things up. But remember to keep the changes as gradual as possible so you give your new implants plenty of time to set and heal. If you have any questions it’s wise to talk to your doctor or dentist for help.

Other great foods for the healing process:

  • Avocados
  • Breakfast cereals (softened by whatever milk you have)
  • Beans
  • Protein shakes
  • Quinoa
  • Pudding
  • Tofu
  • Smoothies
  • Pancakes

Anything along these lines will be perfectly fine for you. Remember to listen to what your teeth are saying and if anything feels too fast too soon, take a step back. It’s important you tread carefully during the healing period.

Four of the most historical places to visit in Oman

OMANBIG

The Arab Country of Oman resides in an area steeped in centuries of cultural, military and religious heritage and history and there are many reasons to travel there. If the history and heritage of Oman excites you and you wish to take in as much as you can on your holiday there, then here are four places that you absolutely must see on your vacation.

The Bahla Fort

The country of Oman has lived through some of the most turbulent times in the Arabian Peninsula’s history. From invading Portuguese to the Ottoman empire, warfare was a constant in days long past. From this time sprouted a need for fortified structures and from these fortified structures, we now have the only UNESCO World Heritage Site fort in Oman. The Bahla Fort.

Constructed somewhere between the 12th and 15th century the fort underwent a massive conservation and restoration and was eventually re-opened for public visits in 2012. Bahla Fort is a maze of sprawling rooms, military compounds and an almost evergreen Oasis, meaning anyone with a love of ancient buildings can spend hours there visiting it.

The Muttrah Souq, or Al Dhalam to locals, is possibly the oldest Souq (or market) in the Arab world. This is due, in part, to its central role in Omani trade up until the eventual discovery of oil and its subsequent effect on Arab trade. The market is still a central commercial area in Oman today however, due to its location next to one of the largest sea-ports in the region. In order to preserve the historical site, while keeping its heritage intact, the Omani government enacted a large renovation project of the area. This allowed the Souq to keep its traditional and famous style, while providing it with modern facilities and amenities, making it attractive to the ever growing Oman tourist trade.

The City of Nizwa

Picking out a specific place in the historical city of Nizwa would be a bit of a challenge. The City is a pot of cultural history dating back to the 6th century, when it was actually the capital of Oman at that time. However, the city contains at least 2 major talking points for those looking to wade into its culture and history. The first being:

The Nizwa Fort

Built around the 1650’s, the fort was a formidable and important stronghold for the Omani forces over the years. The fort was built upon an underground stream providing a constant source of water for those who had no choice but to take shelter inside its walls. The walls and structure also provided an excellent 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside as well, cementing the fact that an excellent area had been chosen for the castle to be built upon. The castle can be visited daily for all those who wish to view this magnificent military building.

The Nizwa Souq

Two different Souqs have been mentioned in this list. Muttrah and Nizwa. Now if Muttrah is considered the largest and most important Souq in Oman, then Nizwa can undoubtedly be considered the 2nd. Here you will find traditional market stalls ranging from pottery and leather goods to silverware that is considered the best in the country by many. If you’re visiting Nizwa then make some time to visit the Souq there.

Special mention

In as a special mention, if you want the history and culture of all rolled up into one quick trip then be sure to visit the Oman National Museum. Commissioned by Royal Decree in 2013 and opened in 2016 The museum is great for those who don’t have much time to spend travelling but wish to learn as much as possible about the long history of the country of Oman.
