Oh boy do I need one of these time-out chairs for Dexie! When I first heard of the Terrible Two’s I thought it was some cruel joke that mums played on one another. Surely life couldn’t get anymore challenging than the constant watchfulness of year one. In my own head, I convinced myself that a walking talking Dexter would be easier to educate, entertain and discipline. I could sit him down with crayons, make him a drink in a beaker, watch cartoons with him, play flash-card games… He’d understand me when I explain I have to leave him for a second to make his dinner, go to the toilet or clean the bathroom, and sit there patiently waiting for mummy to return.
Wrong.
I am now the proud owner of a two-year-old tornado. One that can climb up things, tear things, slam things and hit things. I love him to pieces but I’ve never been happier to see Craig come home at the end of a day. I tell him No so often I wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks this is his name.
