Hot on the heels of Fitbit’s #StepsForGood Big Billion Step-a-thon which made a staggering £250,000 for Sport Relief in just 7 days earlier this month, they’re at it again with stage 2 of the campaign.
This week, the campaign has taken on the big guns and sees Tess Daly & Al Murray go head to head to out-step one another. YESSSSSSSS I’m all for this one. The “Beauty & the Beast” (sorry Al) are the stuff of fairytales after all and it so perfectly captures what we’re all secretly doing with our Fitbits - pacing around our living room trying to notch up those 10k steps and beat our mates.

It’s already proving to be a hilarious contest. Tess, as you can well imagine, continues to look absolutely gorgeous in her gym get-up, whereas poor Al is all arms and legs in his retro shorts. Just watch the below - I was just waiting for Al to fall through that trampoline, I mean, he barely fits on it!
SOMEHOW Al Murray is whipping Tess’ bum! Are we serious??? If this is seriously the case, let’s cheer on the nation’s sweetheart and do it for the women! Who is going to look sexier on that podium after all?
You can keep an eye on their progress, read more about the Steps For Good campaign, and find out how to support Tess & Al by visiting www.fitbitforsportrelief.com. Make sure you’re also publicly backing your favourite using the #StepsForGood hashtag via social media - they’re both keeping an eye on their tweets so get some healthy banter going by commenting on their sweat patches… here’s looking at you Murray.
The Daly vs Murray challenge, is the follow-up to The Big Billion which saw tens of thousands of those of us in the Fitbit community join forces to take over five billion steps, in less than a week, all as part of a fundraising drive contributing to an overall donation of £500,000.
I love it when big brands give back, and there’s no denying that Sport Relief is a worthy recipient. They’ve been involved in supporting some incredible projects - both here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest communities. It’s humbling to think that, thanks to their hard work and the public’s sweat and tears, 734,000 children have been given life-saving vaccines and dementia and mental health charities here in the UK have had a much-needed boost.
Following #StepsForGood and donating just a single £1 equates to buying five hot and nutritious meals for homeless children in Bangladesh or a year’s supply of exercise books for children in Ghana - see? You can make a huge difference to people’s lives all over the world.
