Graco Endure 123 Car Seat - My Mills BabyMy Mills Baby

A few weeks back, I reported on Aldi’s September baby & toddler event. For those unfamiliar with the nation’s favourite supermarket, Aldi regularly hold events so customers can stock up on essentials for less. Their baby & toddler events are hugely popular and always have a whole host of heavily discounted branded products up for grabs including car seats, pushchairs, bottles and toys - some of which are exclusive to Aldi. The aim is to get us buying smarter. They buy up the things we need by the truckload, and pass the savings onto us.

Having been given a few vouchers to shop the event, we managed to pick up a Graco Endure 123 Car Seat for Dex. At £39.99 this was an absolute bargain and he’s chuffed to bits with his new big boy car seat. I’ve no idea what the RRP is on this but you’d be hard pressed to find a car seat for less. As I’ve had tons of Graco products before and have always been impressed, I grabbed one of these on the day the Aldi event started so as not to miss out.

IMG_8100 (2) This is a group 1, 2 and 3 forward-facing car seat and the box states it is suitable for children from 1 year up to 12 years. As an ambassador for a leading child safety company, I would suggest this is in fact suitable for children from 15 months to 12 years (owing to new iSize regs). This aside, the seat is rammed full of all the safety features you’d expect from Graco; 5-point harness, adjustable height head support, intuitive vehicle belt routing and side impact protection.

Made to last your little travel companion well into childhood the Graco Endure Seat is a 3-in-1 car seat designed to keep your child safe and secure as their needs change over time. The 5-point safety harness can be removed to use the belt positioning system (you sort of thread a standard seat belt through a hole and secure as you would an adult) from 13-36kg and the height adjustable headrest means your growing child is comfortable and supported at all times.

There are also a number of features that make life easier. For example, useful clips retain the harness when placing your child in the seat so you’re not scrambling around behind their back for the arm restraints, and the seat is extra light (just 5.7kg) if you’re regularly transferring it between cars.

It’s also super comfortable with padded inserts to ensure your child is comfortable and positioned correctly. Dexter has tons of wriggle room yet is properly supported at all times, and he’s definitely grateful for the extra space. His Group 2 seat has now been donated to his baby sister who has just made the switch from rear to forward facing at 17 months.

My only niggle is that this car seat was difficult to fit. The instructions were all over the place and Craig had to enlist our neighbour to help make sense of them (obviously this was Graco’s fault and not Aldi’s). This led to a huge row on our driveway as Heidi and I were left twiddling our thumbs waiting for the boys to hook it up. The headrest on its lowest setting, is also still a tiny bit high for my little dude. With this in mind, I’m not sure how this would work for a shorter child under 3 years old. This aside, Dexter is clearly really comfy and we saved a fortune by not buying a seat at standard RRP… so no complaints from us!

I’ll definitely be shopping at Aldi’s Specialbuy events again, and I can’t wait to see what other bargains I can pick up! In fact, another event with homeware bargains is on right now having started today.
