Parenting is hard work. The job role is a varied one that includes, yet is not limited to, personal chef, teacher, cleaner, first-aid specialist, personal stylist and social secretary. As the kids go back to school, you might think you’ll have a few hours to yourself, yet the endless cycles of uniform washing, preparing bento boxes and after-school classes come as quite a shock to the system, as does getting your brood out of the door at 8.30am every morning. You may have swapped Peppa Pig for This Morning with Phil and Holly, but the stress and chaos remains.

Eating out could be the perfect answer for parents and children suffering from the back-to-school blues. With a ridiculously reasonable Daytime Value menu, and a kids menu for even the fussiest of tots, Brewers Fayre have struck gold with their traditional pub grub and child-friendly restaurants. Better still, their daytime deals are available until 6.30pm on a weekday making this the perfect inexpensive and tasty after school and work treat. It also means mum & dad can have a night off cooking and washing dishes, and have a cheeky glass of wine to boot!

Brewers Fayre restaurants offer excellent daytime value - 2 main meals for £10*, Monday – Friday, 12-6.30pm* including 12 tasty traditional pub classics, from Fish & Chips, to Gammon Steak and Sausage and Mash. You can also turn this into a proper feast and add 2 starters or 2 desserts for just £2.50!

Many of the restaurants also have indoor soft-play zones for kids to burn off energy both before and after dinner. Some restaurants also have brand new, Dennis the Menace themed, fully supervised play areas complete with birthday party rooms, treehouses and toddler zones. With all this, children are bound to be tired out and ready for bed when you get home.

Whilst the kids play, mums and dad can finally relax and reconnect without the usual dinner-time drama over who wants what to eat! The extensive children’s menu, inspired by the Beano, includes favourites like the Menace Burger or Spaghetti Beano-ese and is available from the kid sized price of just £3.99.

With hundreds of restaurants throughout the UK, there’s bound to be one within a short drive of your home. You won’t need to book in advance and you won’t have to wait to be seated either - just turn up and order at the bar and the friendly staff will do the rest - the perfect impromptu treat for busy families.

  1. I’d tend to pick sausage and mash or a sunday roast as we don’t eat those meals at home as my boyfriend doesn’t care for them. Its a chance to have something different!

  2. I love having a fish dish! My partner isn’t too keen on fish, so I don’t tend to cook it at home (unless he’s away working and the kids and I have it :) ). So it’s nice to have something different xxx

  3. My favourite is gammon, egg, pineapple and chips with of course peas and some mayo and bbq sauce!!!! Yummy makes me hungry just thinking about it! Many thanks for running a great competition!!
