So a few weeks back I told you all I was having fat freezing treatment courtesy of Sculptlite. This is the hottest celebrity body-sculpting trend at the moment and ordinarily takes place in a clinical setting. People literally flock to London and other city locations to have their fat blasted with sub zero temperatures to permanently kill stubborn pockets of fat.
Now however Harley Street-trained clinician Lisa Owens has made the inspired move to offer Lipoglaze® treatment in the comfort of your own home. She travels anywhere within and around the Berkshire and Surrey borders offering the service. Anxious patients, or those keeping their lunchtime-lipo a secret from their partners, can also opt to go to her home.

Anyone wanting the treatment will have a consultation with Lisa first (see my previous post for details and the science behind the treatment) and I can testify to how professional and lovely she is. Your personal safety is put before all else and she gets a genuine kick out of helping you achieve the very best results
The Treatment
So last Tuesday was the big day.
Lisa set up the room in a matter of minutes whilst I signed a consent form. It turns out we have loads in common and she’s tried (or has knowledge of) most of the diets I’ve been using over the last few weeks. It was lovely chatting to her and she gave me tons of tips for maximising my weight loss in 2015. She had advised me to save up some TV programmes to watch throughout the treatment (you have to lie still) but we ended up talking throughout the entire session.
First up she took some new measurements and drew on my skin to mark up the treatment areas. We took piccies of this but this is only for the purposes of this blog - being papped in your undies is definitely not a prerequisite! Her measurements determine the calibration of the machine, and the drawings help her identify those fatty areas ripe for treatment.

Once all the preliminary work was out of the way, Lisa helped me settle onto her treatment bed. She brings along loads of comfy cushions to help you reach a position you’re happy to stay in - it sort of resembles the recovery position with your treatment side in the air (if you’re having your tummy done, you’ll be in a seating position so this is presumably even easier).
She then applied two layers of antifreeze sheets to the treatment areas. This protects your skin and feels (obviously) freezing cold. The machine itself (from what I could see over my shoulder) is a sort of suction cup that sucks your fat in. When this is applied you do feel a great deal of pressure and you will wince, however once the machine has a decent grip on your fat the pressure is released (takes approx 1 min and was the only uncomfortable part of the experience). Lisa took a picture of my fat inside the machine and it looks (to me) like a swollen testicle.

It’s then a waiting game.
I was so comfortable, if Lisa wasn’t so funny, I’d have napped for the duration. Instead I ended up giggling throughout most of it.

Each flank, side or love handle takes 45 minutes and the machine will count you down. It’s imperative you don’t move as if you knock the suction cup Lisa can’t re-site it for health & safety reasons.

After the treatment was finished, Lisa removed the anti-freeze sheets and directed my hand to the site. I could feel my love handles virtually defrosting under my fingers which is a funny sensation. She then rubbed a calendula and aloe vera lotion onto my skin to soothe it. As she’s trained in relaxation and remedial therapy, this was an extra treat.
I was left with minor bruising on both sides which disappeared in a number of days. I can honestly testify this wasn’t at all sore, tender or uncomfortable and I barely noticed it.
It’s now one week after the treatment and I’m yet to see any results. Inside my body, the fat has crystallised and is dead, it’s now up to my lymphatic system to shuttle it around my body and naturally excrete it. This process can take anywhere up to 12 weeks where there’s an average of 33% reduction in fat.
It’s now up to me to start a routine of increased fluid intake (to assist the ‘flushing out’ of the crystallised lipids in the fat cells), light exercise and regular body brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system - Lisa gives all her clients a body brush to get them started. I’ll report back after Christmas with new piccies so you can see how I’m getting on!
In summary, this was a real treat. It’s an odd sensation yet the experience is actually quite relaxing. I could have slept during the treatment as I was so comfortable, and I was left with zero discomfort. I just can’t wait to see if there’s any change to those unsightly bumps!
If you live in Berkshire or Surrey, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled from more posts from me, as I’ll be hosting a giveaway in the New Year to win some treatment of your own (worth £295!).
In the meantime, head to Sculptlite’s Facebook page for another chance to win! (Ends 24th December 2014). You can also say hello on Twitter!
