I won’t leave the house without a bit of bronzer, a smidgen of Vaseline Lip Therapy and a sweep of liquid eyeliner. This is my everyday make-up. I have it down to a fine-art and can be out the door in a matter of minutes. People always assume I make a real effort, but it’s all down to quality products applied well.
Ordinarily I use Benefit’s Hoola, but recently I’ve fallen out of love with it. Having used it for many years, I’m getting frustrated with the packaging and the applicator brush. Hoola is a pressed powder in a square box, yet it seems to wear down in the centre quickly meaning you’re fumbling around with the brush to load it up.
When I was recently sent a mineral bronzer by Amie to try out, I wondered if it would solve the problem. I haven’t used loose powder since my teens but it’s made a big comeback in the recent years due to the mineral revolution kicked off by brands such as Sheer Cover and bareMinerals.
Amie’s Mineral Bronzer in Sun Bronzed is a fab medium shade that suits most skin tones. It can be used all year round to create a healthy and sun-kissed glow so you look like you’ve just been to the Côte d’Azur when you’ve actually just had two weeks of duvet time watching Orange is the New Black. It’s made from 100% natural ingredients and also boasts light-reflecting mica that will create a subtle shimmery finish whilst you sculpt your cheekbones.

FACE SCULPTING:
I’m a massive fan of face contouring. When I put on weight, I tend to carry a fair bit on my face so this helps me feel better. The key is to use two contrasting shades – one light and one dark. The lighter colour needs to be as close as possible to your natural skin tone. This colour brightens certain areas of your face, such as your forehead, and reflect the light to give you a radiant complexion. The darker shade is used to create structure and emphasise, helping you to reduce plump cheeks and disguise a double chin.
As Amie’s Mineral Bronzer in Sun Bronzed is a darker shade, I used it to sculpt. After applying my regular liquid foundation all over my face, I loaded up a large brush, grounded out any excess using the lid, then applied to areas that ordinarily catch the sun e.g. upper cheeks, middle of my forehead, the bridge of my nose, the corners of my lips and the middle of my chin.
This is the result:
