A Much Needed Pick-Me-Up from Thorntons

Posted on

A few weeks ago I received an email from the lovely guys at Thorntons asking me if I knew anyone who deserved a chocolatey treat. I was allowed to pick a mini gift from their website and send it to them to let them know I’m thinking of them. Well it just so happens I have a very special blogger friend who’s bubbling with nerves and could use a virtual squeeze.

I can’t think of anyone more deserving than my pal Colette over at We’re Going on an Adventure. Any day now (the exact date is a secret) she’ll be on her way to hospital to have baby number three. She might not say it, but this pregnancy has been an emotional one. She’s always hankered after a natural birth but has instead safely delivered her two gorgeous children (Ben & Chloe) by way of C-Section. Now she faces a third with mixed feelings - it’s the first she’ll have with a set-in-stone date and she’s battling all the nerves and the excitement of adding another two dinky feet to her family.

Her story is very similar to mine and we’ve instantly bonded. There’s nothing this lovely lady won’t do for someone else. She’s always guest-posting, making me giggle, and taking the time to read my blog. I’ve never heard her moan or complain, and her blog is packed full of play ideas and positivity. I do hope that when I become a mum of two in April I’ll be able to hold it all together quite as well as she does. Right now I consider it a huge disaster worthy of an epic tantrum if I miss the first five minutes of X Factor - How will I cope being responsible for two mini people when I’m surviving on less than 4 hours sleep?

I chose to send Colette a little treat for her and her hubby Dave, and also a little something for baby. I’m happy to report that Thorntons didn’t disappoint. Although I’m not a huge fan of choccies myself (I know! Shocker, right?) I was pleased to see their gift section was packed full of idea for every occasion you can think of. I chose the Continental Milk, White & Dark Signature box, and a scrummy little Bernie the Bear toy. As this little fella is suitable from birth, hopefully her newest addition will enjoy cuddling up to him.

When Colette finally figured out they were from me (unfortunately my little gift card wasn’t in her parcel), she sent me a little pic (middle, above). I really hope she enjoys them and wish her the very best of luck over the next few days. Dig in Colette honey!
