Healthy snacks are an important part of the daily diet of growing, active tots; they need constant refuelling throughout their busy days to keep them going.
Kiddylicious make natural, healthy fruit and vegetable snacks with no nasties. They’re fun snacks that mums love to give and little ones love to eat.

Dexter is a big chocolate fan. He only gets the odd treat (a small handful of chocolate buttons) if he eats all his dinner - but once he gets his paws on them, they disappear in seconds! Throughout the day he’ll gorge on healthy fruit and savoury snacks and I’m pleased to report that he isn’t phased by new flavours. Dinner is hit and miss but I try not to fuss too much on this score - most of us parents quickly learn they’ll eat when they’re hungry!
Yet the problems start when we’re on the go. For some reason Dexter’s eating habits change dramatically when we’re beyond our front door. He likes things out of packets that he can delve in and out of, and we get furious head-shaking if we offer him an apple or a sandwich.
Kiddlylicious is therefore right up my street. A range full of healthy fruity snacks in fun-to-eat textures and shapes. The snacks are colourful, rammed full of flavour and cleverly look like naughty treats to appeal to a child’s inner sweet-fiend!
We were very kindly sent a box full of yummy goodies to try including:
- Wibble Wobble Jelly Pots (apple & blackcurrant and pear & raspberry flavour). Made from real fruit juice with small soft pieces of real fruit and no added sugar. Designed especially for small children (12months+) they’re an easy-to-eat dessert or lunchbox treat.
- Fruity Puffs (banana and strawberry flavour). Flavoured corn puff snacks designed for children aged 7 months +. These are great for encouraging children to use their ‘pincher grip’ and perfect those fine motor skills. They’re much thicker and fluffier than Wotsits and MUCH healthier.
- Fruit Wriggles (tropical, strawberry and apple flavour). Imagine strawberry laces from your childhood and you won’t go far wrong. These are made from pureed fruit then whizzed with apple juice and pectin. They can be twisted and twiddled by little fingers making snack time just that little bit more fun. These can also be used in home baking or as cake toppings too!
- Smoothie melts (banana, mango & passion fruit and strawberry & banana). These are fruit dried melt-in-your-mouth snacks. They are easy to bite into and bursting with flavour. They’re shaped a little like chew-its (without the chew).
- Crispie Tiddlers (banana and raspberry flavour). These are made from real fruit and juice concentrate pureed then thickened with crispy little rice pieces. They are shaped into little fishes to appeal to little ones and are a similar size to cat treats (an unfortunate coincidence). The crispie title is a little misleading as they’re gooey in texture - think ultra soft Haribo and you’ll get the idea.
- Gingerbread Buddies! A firm favourite, these contain real ground ginger to pack a little extra punch. They are in a cute gingerbread man shape and contain far fewer calories than the brands in the confectionery aisle in your supermarket.
- Tomato Flaying Saucers! Tomato rice snacks in a circular shape (> it’s a little bit of a leap of faith to expect kids to go with the saucer association) but these are actually a seriously scrummy flavoursome savoury snack.
- Munch Bagz Krazy Kubez (apple & raspberry and apple & orange) - these are diced freeze-dried fruit cubes. They make perfect cake toppings or cute little snacks for out and about.
I love that the snacks are providing 1 of Dexter’s 5 a day without him noticing. Every little bag has a whole portion of fruit or veg, yet can easily be mixed with real fruit for an even more varied and wholesome snack. The portion sizes are spot on for toddlers who get distracted easily; who needs food when there’s playground equipment to play on?
I’m really impressed with the packaging too which is strong and robust. The brand has tons of personality (reminds me little of Ella’s Kitchen) with owner and designer Sally Preston featuring heavily on the packets and website. It’s a fun, vibrant and cheeky brand; from the packaging right on down to the messaging on the packets (the nutritional information on the reverse is cheekily described as “The Boring Grown Up Bit”).
Sally is an experienced food scientist and qualified nutritionist (formerly of M&S, for over 11 years). She understands the importance of raw material quality and how to make food safe and taste great. She’s incredibly passionate about getting great tasting, healthy food into babies and kids… “We’ve done the hard work, just the way you would, with care and love, so you can relax and enjoy being a parent.” Sally Preston
For Dexter, the rice and corn snacks are definitely his favourites (along with the Gingerbread Buddies). The Fruit Wriggles, Crispies Tiddlers and Krazy Kubez are far more hit and miss with my little fella. As he’s never tried the wonders of Haribo (and the like), I think the texture overwhelmed him. I’m determined to stick with it though as I’m convinced he’ll end up really enjoying it.
Most of the snacks are also ideal for children with allergies with no added preservatives, no added sugar or salt, no milk or lactose, no seeds or nut and no wheat or gluten - what else would you expect from Sally and the team?
All in all, these are fabulous products that offer something just that little different for your tiny tot. I’ll definitely by buying again and would urge any parent worried about their children’s eating habits to give these fun snacks a try.
