Wimbledon. You know summer has arrived when the BBC streams hours worth of world class tennis into your living room.

To say I’m excited is an understatement. Although world number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic tops the men’s seeds from seven-time victor Roger Federer, Andy Murray is a close third. He’s done it before, and with a British crowd behind him, could well do it again. It won’t be easy though and arch nemesis Nadal could meet any of the top seeds as early as the quarter finals (having taken a hit in the ranking due to numerous injuries, he weighs in as tenth seed).

With all this excitement and anticipation, for most of us, our summer’s are set to be spent on the sofa, sipping champagne and strawberries in front of the telly. Yet if you’re partial to a few sets yourself, you might be interested in Carpetright’s fun infographic that explains how different types of flooring could affect your tennis performance. For example, did you know that carpet was used on some courts up until 2009? Ouch - imagine the burns!!!

What’s more, Carpetright are giving three lucky customers the chance to win a Wimbledon tour for two. Thanks to Virgin Experience Days, the lucky winners will get the opportunity to explore everything the All England Lawn Tennis Club has to offer, including a look around the museum and a special gift pack.
