Davina McCall 7 Minutes Fit Review

So queen of the abs Davina McCall has another fitness DVD out. Yep, aside from the Million Pound Drop and those irritating Garnier Nutrisse adverts, she’s a bit of fitness legend. Since 2005 she’s been donning the Lycra and helping us porkies shed the unwanted pounds.

Unlike other celebs who are filmed squatting and sweating, Davina has always been trim and hasn’t undergone a miraculous transformation from sausage roll muncher to bikini-bod. Yet there’s nothing too sexy and off-putting about Davina. For me she lost any sex appeal she might have had when she shouted her way through series upon series of Big Brother. As I’m suffering from a lack of confidence about my body (get your violins out), this makes me feel better about watching Miss Size 8 pull off move after move I can barely manage.

7MinuteFit features ten (surprisingly enough) 7-minute workouts from Davina and personal trainer Ed Lumsden - and ladies, this is where the Sexy comes in.

Ed

I must admit I was a little dubious about the effectiveness of 7-minute workouts. I can’t pretend to be an expert in the dark art of exercise, but even I know that you need to put a bit of effort in. It takes me longer than 7 minutes to perfect a Rustlers burger so how does one lose the love handles in that time?!… Yet oh my days, your feel every single millisecond of Davina and Ed’s workouts. Simply put, they hurt. DAV-Luckily the complicated stuff has been done for you. Ed has popped together an easy-to-follow format that means each 7 minutes you need only perfect 3 exercises. You don’t need any fancy additional equipment (just a couple of baked bean cans as weights), and you won’t need a living room the size of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom to crack on either - just sweep aside the Lego and you’re good to go! DaviIn terms of how effective it is - I’m yet to manage a whole 7 minutes still fancying Ed. I’m still his when I slip into my sports bra and leggings, and still his when I whack on the DVD… but as soon as he opens his mouth and the punishment begins, I see those muscles in a whole new light. He’s a taskmaster.

I’ve definitely become more toned but the weight loss has been minimal. Unfortunately, after 3 sessions with Davina I had to take an unexpected break from #OpBabyWeight due to a “health issue” (not related to her of course). But when I get the all clear and stop wallowing, I’ll be watching Davina and Ed a little more regularly. That’s when I can wrestle a little television time away from Master of the Remote (Dexter) who reliably informs me that he only likes leotards on the Zingzillas… #MummyProblems

Dermatique Recuperating Cream review

Heidi is winning in her war against eczema. Fact. It’s been a hard slog for both of us, with me reviewing cream after cream that promises to alleviate her symptoms. Some work, some don’t, so it’s been in many ways, like playing Russian roulette with my daughter’s skin.

She’s been plagued with dry skin from birth. She outstayed her welcome in my tummy and had to be ejected “through the sunroof” which is fairly common for babies with post-birth skin complaints. Sure enough, after a few weeks, the dry red flaky patches grew bigger and angrier-looking. Although I appreciate it’s a blessing in disguise she doesn’t know how to scratch an itch, it denied her of even the most temporary relief from a bout of eczema.

We were offered steroid treatment for Heidi, but I refused. I suffered from eczema as a child (although not quite to the same degree as Heidi) and was prescribed steroid-based ointment. My skin reacted badly. If I showed a propensity to the nastier side-effects of steroids, what might happen to Heidi?

Thankfully, I’m here with yet another winner that’s been incredibly kind to Heidi’s sensitive skin - Dermatique.

So who are Dermatique?

Dermatique was born out of another parent’s quest to find a 100% safe alternative to steroids when their daughter Patricia became exhausted and restless due to the effects of eczema. After a fruitless search for healthy alternatives, they decided to develop their own products for Patricia’s sensitive skin with no damaging side effects. They carried out all the research themselves, visited dermatologists and chatted to businesses to get their hands on the best raw materials and ingredients.

They claim their Recuperating Cream worked within hours after application on Patricia, and have now bottled the elixir for others to try - babies, teenagers and adults alike.

The Recuperating Cream

Let’s cut to the chase. It’s free from steroids (obviously), mineral oils, peanut, perfume, colour and parabens. You might think there’s nothing new here, but that’s not quite true. This really smells unscented. Far from being unpleasant, this is bloody welcome.

  • Works with the skin´s natural repair process
  • Gives you immediate hydration, helps heal even the driest skin
  • Proven to work on healing dry skin conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis
  • Absorbs quickly, leaves skin optimally hydrated, calmed, soothed & protected

It’s not completely without synthetic ingredients, with a few cetyl esters, polyethylene glycol ethers, but all are lox toxicity and perfectly safe in low doses (virtually all body creams will have them). Most of the ingredients are vegetable & plant derivatives and there’s no dreaded sodium laureth sulfate in sight.

Since its launch in 1996 users have reported a 99% success rate. In fact, so confident are they that they can alleviate the symptoms of eczema and psorasis, they offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

Our thoughts

Love it. It’s noticeably different to other creams we’ve tried in that is a little greasy upon application, and does remain sticky on the skin for approx 3 minutes. This might sound critical but it isn’t. All I’m interested in are the results.

After two weeks use, I’m pleased to report that Heidi’s skin (and my legs) are beautifully soft. In fact, I tested this after getting a horrid shaving rash on my left shin that cleared up completely after two applications.

At £29 per tub, it isn’t cheap, but Heidi’s comfort is paramount and I’ve paid double this for creams that haven’t worked. I’m happy to add this to what is turning out to be a long list of safe products for Heidi-bum, and eczema treatments that really deliver.

History of Tarot Readings

Posted on

For centuries psychics have used tarot card readings as an accurate and divine tool to provide psychic readings and insight to millions of people all over the world. Specialist tarot card readers are able to effectively use the cards as pictorial representations of events and energies that we are likely to encounter in life, such as determination, patience, new beginnings, leaving things behind, joy, togetherness, heartache, reflection and decision-making.

Although tarot card readings have been popularly used by psychics for centuries, the exact origins of tarot cards are unknown. The earliest recorded use of tarot cards was in the eleventh century by the Chinese with further evidence to link its origins to India, as well as Buddhist religious practices. From these uncertain origins, the tarot has managed to provide guidance and direction to countless lives and solidified its place as one of the most fundamental tools for psychic readers today.

Increasingly popular

Advancements in technology have dramatically increased the popularity of tarot readings in recent years, and the widespread use of the internet has made online tarot readings available to anyone who wishes to explore its uses. Due to the core of the reading being anchored in the cards, the need for sitting face-to-face with your reader is significantly diminished. This has seen online and telephone tarot readings take off and become a dominant force within the psychic and spiritualist world. Incredibly, at the click of a mouse or by picking up the phone we can now gain an insight into our future!

Can my future really be seen in cards?

Of course, the big question around tarot card readings is simple: How accurate are they? Well, tarot readers use tarot cards to help map out trends in your future rather than to provide definitive statements of what your future is guaranteed to hold. Those concrete answers that we all desire might not be immediately forthcoming, but you can find out what is likely to happen if you follow your current course of action. After all, the future is in your hands and no one else’s! Generally speaking, the tarot can help you to understand yourself better, and bring to light things that were previously far from obvious.

Can anyone do it?

As the old saying goes: “If it was easy, everyone would be doing it!” There is no quick way of becoming a good tarot reader but the easiest and most simple way to learn is to buy a deck of cards and study the pictures, study the history of tarot cards, and do some practice readings on a trusted friend. Receiving tarot card readings is also an important step in learning how to do it for yourself. Most psychics spend their lives dedicated to enhancing their skills and as a result, many find tarot cards as a fundamental guide to their readings. But don’t forget, everyone had to start somewhere.

Tarot readings can help us to know ourselves better and to understand why things happen to us. A tarot card reading can help guide you through your troubled emotions and clouded thoughts, by offering a reflection of your past, present and possible future and showing you a fresh perspective on your life.
