REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Win 1 of 3 Easybelts (CD: 10/11/2014)

Belts + Toddlers = Nightmare. As Dexter is not yet 3 years old, you might wonder why we bother at all. The truth is that Dexie is really skinny little thing, but he’s inherited Daddy’s long legs. As he obviously hasn’t got any real hips yet, getting a pair of jeans to fit him perfectly is an impossible task.

I can’t stand seeing children with underwear poking out of the top of their trousers. Dexter’s a toddler and happily doesn’t own a skateboard or have any knowledge of One Direction so I don’t want him running around like a scruffy 14-year old (<I also hate that people can see we buy his nappies from ASDA!). In fact, when he’s older and nappyless I’d be even more horrified to see him sporting a builder’s bum. It’s right up there with unchecked runny noses for me and makes me shudder.

The only solution we have found so far is to buy the trousers with the buttons in the waist that allow you to tighten them up. These help a little but we do notice they become slack after a few washes and the dreaded nappy is often back on show.

Step in Easybelt!

Easybelts are just genius. Instead of the buckle and pin mechanism we’re all used to, Easybelt’s feature a velcro strip that passes through a D-loop then folds back on itself. The belt itself is super stretchy so just perfect for little explorers and doesn’t affect their natural movement. It’s designed by the lovely Kay Heffernan and has literally revolutionised the children’s belts market. Not only are they fully adjustable to fit any child, they also enable a child to grow in independence.

Dex is only just ready to attempt potty training so we’re delighted to have found such a fab solution in time. Okay, I’m not going to lie and suggest that he can do up his belt himself - he’s a little behind in his development and has only just learned how to extricate himself from his nappy. But I can say that he’s perfectly comfy in his Easybelt, and I can wrestle those trousers down in seconds when disaster is looming.

Easybelt has also allowed us to finally pop on trousers we’d been saving until he fattened up a little. He gets tons of hand-me-downs from his seriously trendy cousin, so we can finally make use of all those designer shorts and jeans.

There are dozens of designs and a veritable rainbow of colours available. Sizewise, Easybelts cater for toddlers right up to adult sizes so are great for both tiny hands and people with disabilities alike (arthritis for example). As well as the obvious length measurement, there are two width fittings to ensure the Easybelt can sit within both child and adult-sized belt loops, and also a choice of D-Ring (regular and large) for those with limited hand coordination.

It’s such a simple and practical design and has been met with nothing but praise. I’d happily recommend to all parents out there! Better yet, they cost between £5-£8 each so are more than reasonably priced. You can view the entire range at the Easybelts website or follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

  1. I would love a belt for my son. He has long legs but a very slim waist. So trousers for his age are always falling down. I am so relieved school trousers have adjustable belts inside - however a lot of casual trousers and Jeans don’t so this would be great for him - thank you for the giveaway x

  2. These look really fab, I would love one for my 6 year old, who has a really narrow waist and needs to wear a belt all the time - we’ve tried a few different belt designs and he always needs a bit of help getting them tight enough, I love that these look easy enough that he could manage them himself!

  3. I love this belt, and the fact that you can take your trousers up and down easily when my child tells me at the last minute “I need to do a wee!” lol

  4. Sounds great as I have also packed away trousers that don’t fit. By the time his waist fits he has outgrown it height wise :(

  5. ive had this issue for ages as my daughter was out of nappies by her 2nd birthday, now theres no nappy trousers dont stay up at all! shes a tiny little thing and even now at 3 still fits into 18-24 month clothes! but she has lots of gorgeous 2-3 stuff which fall down all the time! and dresser are way too big around the waist so need a belt else she looks a strange square shape because shes short..

  6. My daughter is potty training and sometimes finds it hard to get her trousers down fast enough, but at the same time struggles with being very skinny but tall so a lot of her trousers fall down.

  7. We have the same problem! My son is always pulling up his trousers we can’t seem to find any that fit. These belts are a great idea!

  9. I usually avoid belts and like you have been buying trousers that have buttons inside to tighten/loosen up - the one thing i like about this belt is the velcro strip idea looks very easy to use on a small child!

  10. so easy to use my son has cerebral palsy so his hand movement is effected this will just help him have some more independence

  11. I like the velcro fastening. My daughter needs to be able to undo/do up her belt all by herself, and I want the fastening to be something that won’t injure her if she gets it wrong. The Easybelt looks safe.

  12. my daughter has a couple of belts, they are so fiddly, these look easy and simple to use, making it easier for my daughter to be more independent when going to the loo.

  13. To be honest it majorly appeals that my daughter won’t be flashing her backside, not lady like at all, and this is a fab solution.

  14. My 4 year old son has long legs and has a skinny waist and he is useless at doing belts bless him, for school when he gets changed for P.E and Im not there it would be comforting to know he could do his own belt up :)

  15. If these really work how you say they do we need one! Everyone who has ever come into contact with my little girl has seen her bum!

  16. My little boy is also toilet training so this would be a great alternative to his normal belt to make it easier for him

  17. They look like they will be easy for Cody to use at Nursery

  18. They seem like such a great idea, Cute too.
I would love this for my son, he’s constantly running around, with his trousers falling down, bless him (:

  19. These look great and the adult ones would be great for the elderley as arthritis is a common condition, and my granddad would find the ease of these belts great as he has trouble with the every day leather belts he uses

  20. It looks easy to use and my little one struggles to keep trousers up even with the elasticated waist. most childrens belts don’t hold their trousers up
