As a parent blogger (essentially a mummy with too much time on her hands!) you get to hear about all the latest baby products before anyone else. Okay organic clothing is nothing new, but I must admit bamboo clothing passed me by completely until now. When offered the opportunity to try out a little something for Dexie from the ever-fabulous Little Buttons Boutique, I couldn’t resist.
So just what is it? Bamboo fabric is organic, sustainable, eco-friendly and amazingly soft! It’s naturally thermo-regulating, keeping the body warm when it’s cool outside, and cool in the summer sun. It’s perfect for kids clothes as it’s breathable, absorbent and hypoallergenic so is extra gentle on children’s sensitive skin. Bamboo wool is thankfully also machine washable on the wool cycle if when your little rascal decides to tip porridge on it.
I trialled this beautiful Bamboo Baby Boys Cardigan and can testify just how amazingly soft this is. Dexter is wearing a size 1-2 years which is lovely and loose on his bare skin. You can definitely feel the quality of it when you give him a cuddle. My little model simply loved posing in it despite it being a sweltering summers day so it’s perfect for summer evenings. I’m sure you’ll agree he looks absolutely delicious in it.
Little Buttons Boutique is owned by the über friendly and approachable Wendy Murray (sadly no relation!). She set up the business just a few month ago to provide high quality, beautifully made clothes for children aged 0-2. Organic cotton and bamboo are important to her as her son had quite bad eczema when he was little. In her experience, gentle breathable non-chemical fabrics helped relieve her sons condition.
She wanted to put together a collection that would offer our customers something a little bit different to what is available on the high street, and she’s definitely succeeded! Every item is very traditional, from cotton rompers in cute ditzy prints, to boys staples in classic stripes, anchors and stars. My kind of shop.
Even better, unbelievably Little Buttons Boutique are currently clearing their Spring / Summer stock to make way for the Autumn / Winter collection! You know what this means… Sale!!!! I know! It seems unbelievable that stores UK wide are thinking about rain coats and snowsuits in this weather. Not only is Dexter’s cardigan now at just £12.50, there are lots more bargains to be had. Here’s my pick of the sales on offer.
Clockwise: Lucy and Sam Ice Lolly Print Romper (was £20 now £16), Bamboo Baby Boys Shorts (was £29.99 now £14.99), Little Green Radicals Serene Seahorse Skirt (was £24 now £12), Bamboo Baby Grey Star Knit Bamboo Bodysuit (was £25 now £19.99), Little Green Radicals Nautical Frill Dress (was £18 now £14), Bamboo Baby Dress and Knickers (was £30 now £15), Lucy and Sam Anchor Sleepsuit (was £20 now £16), Bamboo Baby Star Print Shirt (was £19.99 now £9.99)
As Little Buttons Boutique have big plans in the upcoming weeks to expand into leather baby shoes, organic skin care, new baby gifts and nursery toys, there’ll soon be even more reasons to visit the website and treat your little one. So do hurry over and take a look around!
