I love this brand. Are there any lengths Puckababy won’t go to, to help us with our baby sleep related problems? Not only do they have the best (and the safest) baby sleeping bags on the market, they’re also committed to helping babies (and therefore mums) everywhere achieve a good night’s sleep.
Dexter has been in his Puckababy 4 Seasons Sleeping Bag for almost a year now. It still looks as good as new despite millions of washes and will continue to fit him for many more months to come. This is the beauty of Puckababy’s products. Unlike many rival sleeping bags, you don’t need to continually buy the next size up as your baby grows, nor do you need to buy several togs / thicknesses to take into account our changeable British weather. A Puckababy is an investment that will grow with your child and offer a sleep solution no matter what the weather.
In fact, so much loved is our Puckababy, it recently came on holiday to the Canaries with us. Knowing just how chilly nighttime’s abroad can be with air conditioning units, we popped him in his summer layer and we knew he’d maintain a constant temperature throughout the night. It also provided him with a reminder of home in an otherwise alien environment.
At the Olympia Baby Show last weekend, I also got a chance to play with some of their other products. Although we know just how great Puckababy are, I must admit it was great to see the rest of the range up close in person. The brand’s creator Sandra Bottram-de Louwere was even on hand to take me through every detail (what a great lady she is! Her affection for her product is hugely infectious) and I found myself mentally clocking up a list of everything I wanted for the new baby:
The Puckababy GoGo
Suitable up to 7 months, this snuggly wrapping blanket is available in 4 different colourways. Being 100% cotton inside, and 100% microfibre on the outside, it offers great protection from the elements whilst still being very kind to baby’s skin. Unlike other blankets of its kind, baby’s feet are fully enclosed and there’s a concealed strap on the inside to keep baby secure inside the blanket. It’s so soft to touch, I must get my mitts on one of these in time for Baby 2′s first Christmas.
The Original Piep
Suitable up to 6 months, this will be your newborns first ever sleeping bag. What sets it apart from its competitors is the attention to detail and number of safety features. With yesterday’s news reports on the dangers of swaddling too tightly, the Piep is the perfect alternative for anxious parents. Consisting of an outer bag and a special vest within in which your baby gets placed, you are able to create a snug cocoon, yet simultaneously leave space for the healthy development of your baby. The neck seams are also luxuriously soft to avoid irritation, and every single material has been hand selected to ensure it offers the optimum sleep environment for baby. Better still, it looks incredibly cute! Best way to appreciate this one is to watch this video.
The Puckababy 4 Seasons Bag
I don’t need to rave too much more about this product, it’s in a class of it’s own as far as I’m concerned. The name of the game with this product is ‘options’. In colder months, there are two layers of baby soft jersey, and sleeves with built-in (yet detachable) scratch mittens. When warmer weather kicks in, you can pop one layer in a drawer, detach the sleeves, and baby can relax in a totally breathable sleeping bag. All I will add to my already exhaustive praise for this product is - it looks even more adorable in newborn size.
So what’s new with Puckababy?
Well they’ve teamed up with Hannah Brown (Sleep Trainer & Paediatric Nurse & Nanny) to offer advice to sleep deprived parents everywhere. They’re busy putting together the final finishing touches to a glittering upcoming press event in London that will aim to really put Puckababy in the spotlight it deserves. If you have any sleep-related concerns, it’s well worth saying hello to Hannah on Twitter (@YummyBabyGroup).
Creator Sandra Bottram-de Louwere has also put together a beautifully illustrated book to offer advice on how to achieve the perfect night’s sleep. If you’re a mum-to-be, you can request a free copy of this book to read in advance of that very special (and very overwhelming) first night with your new baby.
