We love Olly the Little White Van in this house - so much so we’ve ended up with 2 copies! I won one from the ever wonderful ET Speaks From Home who wrote a fabulous review over on her blog, and then I went an bought another copy in a fit of temporary madness last weekend. Rather than trudge back to the shop and have to admit I bought it in error, I have decided to give it away for one of your tiddlers to enjoy.
Given Craigy is a courier and drives a white van, Olly the Little White Van is all the more special to us. Everyday at 6pm, Dexter and I will scoot on over to the window to wait for daddy’s van to pull into the drive. This is Dexter’s favourite time of the day as he and daddy then have an hour’s playtime before dinner.
For those of you not familiar with the show, Olly the Little White Van is voiced by every mother’s secret weapon, Justin Fletcher. Episodes are currently aired every weekday on CITV at 9.45am (double bill) and 1pm. You can also catch up with his exploits on ITV Player.
Olly and his driver Stan try and help out people as much as they can. They don’t always get things right but their heart’s are always in the right place! All the characters are fantastically animated and colourful and there’s also lots of singing to hold Dexter’s attention (in fact the animation is very reminiscent of Disney’s Cars). The theme tune also sounds like Centrefold from the J Geil’s Band so is really memorable and great for dancing.
There are 13 episodes on this DVD so parents certainly won’t feel short-changed. It also comes with a free colouring sheet to keep little people busy whilst they’re watching Olly and his mates on their fun-filled adventures.
